But his reputation went from hero to zero when it was discovered that he had an affair with ex-Bayern Munich defender Christian Lell’s girlfriend Melanie Rickinger.
Lell alleged that the Gunners man was involved with Melanie Rickinger while he was still in a relationship with her but Ozil refused to comment on the allegations.
Mesut Ozil and Christian Lell aren’t teammates in the club level, but they have both played for the German U21 national team.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is yet another player who has slept with his teammate girlfriend. Back in 2013, the Daily Mail alleged that Chelsea team-mate Thibaut Courtois had had an affair with De Bruyne’s girlfriend Caroline Lijnen.
De Bruyne was said to have been “devastated” about the affair, but had since reconciled with Courtois. Both players were owned by Chelsea at the time, although Courtois was on loan at Atletico Madrid when the affair happened. They both play for Belgium National team.

Aston Villa defender is considered to be one of the best central defenders of his generation. He captained Chelsea from 2004 to 2017 and had gone to become the club’s most successful captain, having won many titles including five Premier League titles and one Champions League title.
