ALGON Urge The Nigerian Police To Grant Civilian JTF Arms To Fight The Zamfara Bandits

Gusau – The Zamfara chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), has urged the Nigeria Police Force to permit the Civilian Joint Task (CJTF), to carry rifles to ease the fight against bandits in the northwastern state. The Nigeria Police said it has arrested one Idowu Gafar, 29 years at Lugbe for being in possession of fake currencies, and was trying to use same to do point of sale (POS) transfer. Police PRO in Abuja,  DSP Anjuguri Manzah, who spoke exclusively to LEADERSHIP,  said the suspect was however exposed when the POS operator raised an alarm after she realised that the said currencies were fake. Upon his arrest, 10 pieces of fake one55+ thousand naira notes were recovered from the suspect as exhibits. Manzah further noted that similarly, on September 10, 2018, police operatives acting on tip-off arrested one Abubakar Adamu at Gwarinpa for being in possession of 37 pieces of fake one thousand naira notes. The suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation. Meanwhile, Police operatives on stop and search duty at Shoprite junction Apo arrested one Lawal Adama ‘m’ at the location for being in possession of a locally made single barrel pistol with three rounds of live cart
