Motorcycle Rider Allegedly Kidnapped And Killed By Local Government Chairman In Kaduna

It was learnt that the kidnappers opened fire on the motorcycle rider, killing him on the spot before whisking Katuka away. No information had been received from his abductors at the time of filing this report. Kaduna State Police Public Relation Officer, Muhammed Jalige, was unavailable for comments when our correspondent contacted him. Chikun Local Government Area has become a hotspot for kidnapping and banditry in recent times as several persons have been attacked by hoodlums there.

THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Nasarawa State has engaged more than twenty physically Challenged persons as Ad- hoc staff for the conduct of the forthcoming general election in the state . The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Dr Uthman Ajidagba announced this in Lafia at a Sensitization Forum for People with Disabilities ahead of this month’s general election. According to Ajidagba, over sixty persons with disabilities across the 13 local government areas of the state participated in the sensitization exercise adding that those with visually impaired, the crippled, the deaf and dumb among others attended the forum. Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from presenting Tonye Cole and Magnus Abe as governorship candidates in the general elections. Justice Omotosho also nullified all direct and indirect primaries conducted by both factions of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. According to Omotosho, none of the primaries were conducted according to the law. The judge noted that the INEC did not do well by submitting names of candidates without consideration of previous court orders. Deafening Thunder Strikes 23 Cows Dead in Ekiti State

In the last couple of days, loud thunder, accompanied by a downpour was recorded in parts of Ekiti state, which led to the death of at least 23 cows in Okeowa Eluju, a farmstead in Iloro-Ekiti, Ijero Local Government Area of the state. According NAN, Abdulkadri Kadiri, a Fulani herdsman who was the owner of the dead cows, said he was shocked and distressed by the incident, and described it as an ‘act of God’. “I went to farm after about six hours heavy downpour on Monday morning, only to discover that 23 of my cows had died. After careful observation, I found that there was no trace of bodily injuries on the dead cows. I want to believe it is an act of God since I did not offend or quarrel with anyone,” he said.
