Method 1: Mediatek Processor Only
Before start using this method , check your mobile device specs whether it has mediatek chipset or not. Android version 4.4 will be more preferred i.e Kitkat version. Guys please check your android version, if that didn’t work try restarting your mobile 1-2 times by clearing cache.
Checking Device for Mediatek or Qualcomn Processor:
  1. Download CPU Z app from Playstore: Click Here
  2. Install and open this app.
  3. Wait while it retrieves your device information.
  4. Within few seconds you will see all your device information on the screen.
  5. If your device is using Mediatek Chipset then it will reflect with the Logo of Mediatek Chipset on the screen.
First Download & Install MTK Engineering Mode app in your 3G mobile device.

  • This Application will allow you to run an advanced Setup from the Engineering Mode Menu of MTK phones, which is also called SERVICE MODE
Note This: Use this secret menu very carefully. In case if you don’t know on what you are doing then just stop it or don’t do it!!
  • Open the installed app, or dail your mobile device specific code for Engineering Mode
  • Click on the MTK Settings and Select Preferred Network Option.

  • Open dial-pad and type this number *#*#4636#*#*
  • Then testing page will appear from that choose Phone information 1
  • Scroll down till you find Set Preferred Network type and click on that
  • Here you have to choose LTE/GSM auto (PRL) option or any LTE option
  • This is how you have to use 4G in 3g mobile
In case if you still unable to get the signal after this trick you have to select the network manually. Because after enabling LTE sometimes your device won’t select the network follow these given steps to get the signal and use 4G sim in 3G Phone. So follow these given steps I am giving an example for Moto G Device but you can follow these steps to use 4G sim in every snapdragon device

  • Then you will see one page with Testing, click on Phone Information

Yes, It is Possible, The first thing You need to check is the sim supports on 4G network or also support 3G / 2G. If sim supports the 2G and 3G then you can use it without any settings but ONLY 3G services.
**4G cannot be used on 3G phone as Hardware is not compatible. But still if you want to make use of 4G only sim card on 3G phone then you have to do ( try) it with Engineering mode:
First you need to Check your system chip set by installing the System info APP or you can search for your device on this website How To change switch 2G 3G to 4G(Know Review Tips). OR continue if you already know.
for Qualcomm chipsets :
Install “Shortcut Master Lite app” Open it
Click on Menu.
Search for “Service Menu” / “Engineering Mode” and select it.
Now you can change the preferred network.
OR Dial *#2263# then Select Menu and Click Back again then Select Menu.
Now go to Key Input and Enter “0000”, Select UE Setting from Popup.
Select the desired band by going : Configure Protocol>NAS>Network Control>Band Selection>LTE Band you want to use on 4G sim

Mediatek CHIPS:
  1. Download and install Mtk Engineering Mode app from play store.
  2. Open it and click on “Mtk Settings”.

Still there is no guaranty that it will work as the hardware is not compatible with the 4G sim… But you can give a try i think this is good just choose frequency band of your choice.

Support for 4G LTE depends on the hardware of the device. It is not at all possible to do what is stated in the question. As far as I know, even when it comes to 4G, you have different bands based on the technique used such as TDD, FDD thereby giving us different bands for different regions.

Also as an example, I have a 4G enabled phone in India which uses TDD band 40. When I carry this phone to the US and use the network provided by AT&T, it will not work since AT&T uses FDD 4G.

Yes it is possible to make a 3G android support 4G sim card. There are different methods for different phones or processors.
Method 1: Mediatek Processor Only
