Police kill militant leader in Ikorodu 

-The mastermind of an attack that left some security officers dead in Ikorodu has been killed

-The suspect, Endurance Ominisan aka Mighty, reportedly confessed to the killing of the policemen among other criminal acts

-The commissioner of police in Lagos state, Mr Fatai Owoseni, had stated that the command was working with sister security agencies to arrest the suspected militants that killed the security men. 

The mastermind behind the killing of an army officer and some policemen in Ikorodu has been killed in a gun duel on Tuesday, morning, April 18, the Nigerian Police has said. 

Vanguard reports that the mastermind, Endurance Ominisan aka Mighty, a native of Arogbo in Ondo state, was arrested by the Igp, IRT team on Tuesday morning during a battle with the police in Lagos.

Following his arrest, he reportedly confessed to masterminding the killing of the policemen and other criminal acts including the kidnap of Oniba of Iba, kidnap of Turkish school girls among others. 

Jomotv leant that Endurance Ominisan later died of the injuries he suffered following the fierce gun battle with the police. 

Recall that the militants who kidnapped some persons at the Woodland Estate close to Ishawo Creeks engaged security personnel in a gun duel and killed 4 police men and an army captain in the process. 

The security officers were killed on Sunday, April 9, while trying to rescue persons abducted by the unidentified gunmen following a distress call that some armed men had entered the wutu-Isawo in Ikorodu through the thick swampy forest surrounding the area. 

The commissioner of police in Lagos state, Mr Fatai Owoseni, had disclosed that police and the army immediately mobilised personnel to the area, where the kidnapped victims were rescued. 

Jomotv learnt that, after the men had freed the victims, they ran into an ambush staged by the militants, leading to the death of four policemen and the army captain.

The commissioner said the command was working with sister security agencies to arrest the suspected militants that killed security men.
