Borno Explosion: 31 kil as residents, security agencies give different narratives, At least 31 persons were killed and about 48 others injured after suspected Boko Haram sujcide bombers on Saturday attacked Abachari village in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State, residents and witnesses have said. The suicide bombers, said to be six by the army, reportedly targeted people returning home after a Sallah fair in Damboa. The police put the casualty at 20 persons, saying 48 others were injured. The Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) spoke on the rescue efforts following the attack. The Nigerian Police Force has reacted to the reported kidnap of Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West senatorial district on Thursday morning at Gwagwalada by unknown gunmen when he was heading to Lokoja to attend a court session. The Police however denied knowledge of the kidnap, saying the incident was not reported in any station across the country. Google Nigeria plans to reach more than 10 million Nigerians with free Internet access in five cities in Nigeria. According to the company, the Wi-Fi will be available in 200 Google Stations across five cities in the country which includes Lagos, Kaduna, Port Harcourt, Ibadan and Abuja by 2019. This was made known on Thursday at the second Google for Nigeria event in Lagos. The Google Nigeria Country Director, Juliet Ehimuan-Chiazor, said the initiative would address affordability and access to data as well as broadband penetration. Speaking at the unveiling of the Google Stations, She said the free Wi-Fi was rolled out in partnership with an Internet Service Provider with extensive fibre network, 21st Century, adding that the company was open to partnerships with other ISPs and telcos. “One of the challenges we found was access to data. A total of 37 members of the House of Representatives have according to recent developments, defected APC. Of this number, 32 joined PDP, while four joined ADC. One later announced he was also leaving the APC but did not state his new party. Announcing their defection on Tuesday during plenary, the first 36 lawmakers cited division at all levels of the APC as the reason for their defection.
