Tragedy struck Sakwaya, a village in Dutse, Jigawa State, on Saturday when four teenage girls reportedly drawned in a pond while searching for firewood. The incident occurred ‎in the afternoon when the little girls attempted to swim across a stagnant pond at Farantama district under Albasu local government of Kano state. The girls‎, Sumayya Gadi, 7, Zuwaira Abdulhamidu, 12 , Ummi Sa’adu, 11, and Gaji Sa’adu, 12, respectively, were said to have been sent on errand by their parents to fetch firewood from the neighbouring bushes when news broke to members of the village that their wards were killed. The incident, which have thrown the members of the community ‎into shock and mourning, has also generated debate on the root cause of the victims death. Although all the victims corpses have been recovered and buried immediately in accordance with Islamic rite, some members of the community could not hide their reservations that the death may have been as a result of ‘probable’ course. Super Eagles player,  Kenneth Omeruo , will be getting married to his fiancee, Chioma Nnamani, in Enugu state tomorrow, December 30th. The professional footballer, who is a Chelsea defender but currently on loan at Turkish club Kasimpasa, proposed to Chioma in September. Berry Ng, a 22-year-old YouTube star from Hong Kong, has had more than 30 plastic surgery procedures in the past five years — all to impress her (now ex-) boyfriend. She says she started going under the knife because her ex criticized her looks and kept comparing her to supermodels, reports Next Shark. Ng has spent more than $3,000 augmenting her forehead, eyes, cheeks, nose, chin and breasts. She explained how whenever her ex-boyfriend would watch porn starring women with big breasts “he would shout ‘How big! Nigeria was duly represented at the 2017 MOBO Awards as Wizkid and Davido both won honours at the event held at the First Direct Arena, Leeds England. Wizkid, real name Ayo Balogun, beat Jay-Z, Cardi B, Kendrick Lamar and others to clinch the best international artist award at the event on Wednesday. David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, beat Eugy, Sarkodie, Wizkid, Maleek Berry, Mr Eazi and others to clinch the Best African Act award.
